I drew a kite for our reading. At a kite festival there is the biggest kite in the world they don't use people for the big one they use a tractor because when it is a person the big kite can be so strong it can blow a person away.
I am a Year 8 student at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Mr Reid.

St Kents day
Hi and this is when we went to St Kents and we went there on Thursday. We went there on a bus and we got to play games and learn how to play new sports. There were four boys named Alex, Max, Sam and I forgot the other boys name. We played tag, soccer and basketball.

Twenty fingers on one hand
My group read a book about a boy names Tuni. He grew his own banana tree and he said it took a few weeks to grow. The leaves were also as big as he was. They were giant! The paddle shaped leaves are called bracts.

TONGA!
This term our Inquiry topic was TONGA and we wrote about it.

Making brooms
The broom on the left is a hand made and the broom on the right is machine made. The hand made broom is made from coconut leaves. You can use everything on coconut leaves to make a broom.
