My banana tree

WALT explain how banana trees grow in Tonga.

We read about twenty fingers on one hand. It was not about human fingers but it was about many bananas on one branch.

Twenty fingers on one hand

My group read a book about a boy names Tuni. He grew his own banana tree and he said it took a few weeks to grow. The leaves were also as big as he was. They were giant! The paddle shaped leaves are called bracts.

Making brooms


The broom on the left is a hand made and the broom on the right is machine made. The hand made broom is made from coconut leaves. You can use everything on coconut leaves to make a broom.

Duffy assembly

Today we got some Duffy books and Henry and Robert came and told us stories about their reading journey. We sang the Duffy song to celebrate.

Goosebumps and flowers

Goosebumps went onto the field and collected beautiful flowers for our reading. Then we put it on an A4 paper and we took a photo. In the story their flowers were dying so they made a quick way to make it last a long time.
