Make A Volcano

                                                                               
Step 1:make a tall mountain out of sand or dirt.
Step 2: poke your finger in the mountain to make a crater.
Step 3:fill a half of baking soda in a eggcup.
Step 4:put the baking soda through the crater.
Step 5:stir and tip a little bit of  food coloring and than put a half of vinegar and then put the baking soda in and now look at the volcano.

Preparing The Pola

This story is about a little girl name Amelia and it was her cousin Elisapesi  birthday. Her twenty first birthday. When they were done cooking they put candy and chips on the table. They put the food on the table and it was very heavy. Amelia and her cousin with six men had to put it in the truck carefully and Amelia and her family had to go on another truck. When the guest came over Amelia and the others had to wait. The minister had to do the prayer and the oldest had to eat. Amelia ate when they did the speeches Amelia was happy because there was plenty of food.

Maui Vs The Sun

One day there was a man named Maui and he lived in a village, but one day the sun was racing across the sky and Maui went out to go fishing to get fish for his family. It was already sunset and the fish was gone and he was so upset that he was hotter then the sun. When he was walking home Maui was thinking to himself that he could go and save the day and tell the sun to slow down. That was his plan and at night he said to his family that he could save the day and when he got out of bed he went to find lots and lots of flax to make his own net to catch the sun.

 When he found lots of flax he went to create his own net.When he was finished he walked to his friends house and woke them up and he said "Come with me because I am going to save the day". 

One of his friends woke up and he said "I will come with you" and Maui said "Okay".

Maui and his new friend walked a long way because it was out in the east side and it was still midnight. When they went away far away from the village it was nearly time for the sun to rise. Maui got out his net and the sun rose and Maui threw his net over the sun and his friend caught the other strip of the net and the sun almost got out but there were five people walking pass and Maui told them to help. They did and then the sun went down and Maui jumped and Maui said "You need to stop racing across the sky" and the sun said "Okay, okay, I will" and Maui and the five people lift him him to the sky. 

His friend went back to the village and Maui went back to his village and the people in the village said that he was our hero.

A Hot Air Balloon

1. This hot air balloon has a hot flame to make the air balloon fly.
2. When there are people on it they have to wait and wait to get somewhere to place to place.
3. This hot air balloon is the biggest balloon. 
4. The flame fill up the balloon and it will start flying throw the cloud.

We are learning to do a report on a famous New Zealander and my one was about Richie Macaw. He was a famous New Zealander and All Black. He won every game he had and then retired. His favourite T-shirt is Adidas and he was the captain of the All Blacks team. He was born 31 December 1980. 

Thing That We Learned About Multiplication Monday?

We were learning about multiplication and it is like counting ants body or books and finger and people in your class and that is multiplication mean.It can help you with your math and it is very great to use multiplication  every day and you will be smart at math like your class is. When you keep it you will get a good report on your math, and we read about multiplication and it was all about that there was two kids and they where looking for object to count in there timetable, take way and pluses.That why multiplication is good for you to make you smart, good report and great math work and it will make you proud of yourself.

Summing Up Dad

This book was about that two kids dad was weird and he can dress up like a pirate, William Shakespeare and a famous French mathematician he can make people laugh out loud.When they got to the kitchen dad lift a note on the kitchen table and they had to meter from there room and meter to the kitchen and when they where done there was another note lift on the bathroom tape and it said meter your tooth brush and then meter there tooth past and when they where done they got really and when they took step it was 343 step to go to school

TIGER

1. The tiger has the sharpest teeth and their back teeth is sharper than a knives.
2. It usually attack human.
3. When they eat and then done they protect any leftover food so no scavengers come to get it.

My Dad Found A Pit Bull

When I was six, that was five years ago, my dad found a pitbull with deep black eyes and he was a puppy. My dad named him East and the colour of his fur was black. My dad brought him home and he stayed for five years. We fed him breakfast, lunch and dinner and he was about three years old and I was about eight years old. He use to sleep with me when I went to bed early at 8:30 and when I got up for school and came back from school he would wait for me. My dad and mum would look after him when I was gone.

When I went somewhere I would take him with me. I would walk to my cousins or to my friends house. At 8:30 I would take him for another walk around the block and then when we get home I would feed him. We went to sleep in my bed and East would sleep on my leg and made my leg warm. Every morning I fed him and he would go outside to go to the toilet and he would come back inside and we would play games with the ball and then we would have lunch.
 
I was turning seven and East was playing with my cousins. He stopped and then gave me a present because he was the best dog. I had some of my cake and then when my cousins went we said good bye to them and then played. I fed him and then we went to bed.

We woke up the next day and I cleaned up my room and then me and East had breakfast. East would just growl and growl.

For reading we read Snailville A Great Place To Visit and it was all about a snail email to his family because his cousins and  the other never came and visit him and he was talking about his uncle got chewed up from a frog and then he service but not his shell.

A Sad Time My Best Friend Left

My friend named Dominic left because he was moving to another house and going to a different school. We took some photos and now I have it as my wallpaper.

He was funny, kind, helpful and a very good dancer. He's half Tongan and half Fijian. He showed me some moves because his uncle is a fighter and he showed him how to move. He showed me how to Tongan dance and he knew how to Maori dance and sing as well.

He was a great friend and treated people nicely. He was in my reading group and when I got a word wrong he told me the word and he helped me sound it out.

He was a great reader and he was really quick at reading and he never missed one word. He always tried and kept it up to be better than before. He was a great and smart friend and he always tried to be helpful in school. He believed in himself.

He brought stuff like photo's of his sister and carved wood from Tonga. He loved to bring stuff for show and tell. He gave me one of his carvings and I left it in my room.

Welcome Back To School

After the holiday I felt like I was at a different school. I had a better attitude about learning. When the bell rings I just want to learn more to be better than before. That means that you get a great great report and become a smart person.

The best skip off ever

Today we had a skip off at the front of my class. We were suppose to do it with the other class on the court but it was going to rain and we all ran straight to class because it looked like it was going to rain very hard but we had to do our skip off on Thursday. Each class had to skip but if the person stopped they had to sit down.

These are the people that won the skipping contest Fakaola came second, Limiteti came first and Meanah came third. Limiteti is in the middle, Fakaola is on the left and Meanah is on the right

Kite festival

I drew a kite for our reading. At a kite festival there is the biggest kite in the world they don't use people for the big one they use a tractor because when it is a person the big kite can be so strong it can blow a person away.

St Kents day

Hi and this is when we went to St Kents and we went there on Thursday. We went there on a bus and we got to play games and learn how to play new sports. There were four boys named Alex, Max, Sam and I forgot the other boys name. We played tag, soccer and basketball.

My banana tree

WALT explain how banana trees grow in Tonga.

We read about twenty fingers on one hand. It was not about human fingers but it was about many bananas on one branch.

My group read a book about a boy names Tuni. He grew his own banana tree and he said it took a few weeks to grow. The leaves were also as big as he was. They were giant! The paddle shaped leaves are called bracts.

TONGA!

This term our Inquiry topic was TONGA and we wrote about it.
Like Tonga have over all of the storm but sometime it is sunny and very
hot but luck they had water.

Making brooms

The broom on the left is a hand made and the broom on the right is machine made. The hand made broom is made from coconut leaves. You can use everything on coconut leaves to make a broom.

Back to school

Hi, I hope you had a great great holiday and welcome back to school and you should learn a lot so that you can be better than before.

Chromebook day.

We are now learning on our own chromebooks. This is room 10 reading and checking their writing.

Duffy assembly

Today we got some Duffy books and Henry and Robert came and told us stories about their reading journey. We sang the Duffy song to celebrate.

The lightest wood

A raft is a kind of boat but it is a challenge to make one. We needed to build a raft and sail for reading because we read a book about how to use the lightest wood to make a raft. Our wood was not the lightest wood but we did try to make a raft and this is the flax we used to make the sail.                                        

How to brush my teeth

My work is how to brush my teeth this one is different to how to draw. I added school breakfast and how to make my lunch and put on my shoes.

Goosebumps and flowers

Goosebumps went onto the field and collected beautiful flowers for our reading. Then we put it on an A4 paper and we took a photo. In the story their flowers were dying so they made a quick way to make it last a long time.

I like drawing and painting because my brother showed me how to draw and I got use to it and me and two girls named Fakaola and Jessica are great drawers.

How to swim

We did backstroke and holding our breath. We went swimming after fitness and it was so fun to swim. We did swimming because we needed to learn how to swim. Swimming couches came in and taught us a few skills as well.

Room 10 class treaty

This is our class treaty. It means that we need to love and take care of each other and our classroom. We have a no bully zone contract too and there are no bullies in room 10. I am practicing how to respect others and participate in all my class activities positively.

Learning in 2017

Hi my name is Konzay and I am nine years old. I go to Ruapotaka school and my friends and I like to dance, play basketball and rugby. I like drawing superheroes, cars and family. I'm excited to see Moana the movie because it is one of my favourite movies. My goal for the year is to try to stay healthy by playing sport and eating healthy. My learning goal is to focus on the mat to be better than before.
